Tiger Cubs is for boys who are in the first grade (or are age 7 years old) and their adult partners. This program introduces the boys and their adult partners to the excitement of Cub Scouting as they live the Tiger Cub motto together: Search, Discover, Share. Tiger Cubs is designed to build stronger families through involvement in a simple, low cost program that is flexible and fun for boys and adults.
The boy starts his path to Tiger Cub rank, by learning the Tiger Cub motto, the Cub Scout sign, and the Cub Scout salute. When he has completed these he will be awarded his Tiger Cub belt totem. This is a tiger paw with four strands for totem beads, that he wears on his belt. Totem beads are earned by working on the five Tiger Cub achievments.
For each of the five achievments, there are three parts. When each part has been completed, a colored bead is earned.
These beads will go on the first three strands of the belt totem. Once he earns all five beads of each color he will have earned his Tiger Cub badge.
After earning his Tiger Cub badge, the boy is encouraged to work on electives. There are fifty electives to choose from. For every ten electives completed the boy will earn one yellow bead, which goes on the fourth strand of the belt totem.
